ATTN: Jemma Dibley: RTI Launceston City Council REF 01602-020

Good afternoon,

As promised I’m writing to confirm our telephone conversation after I received your letter. To reiterate for the record:

  1. I did not object to the request for the extension of time albeit that, initially, I did express some “outrage” and concern at the time, especially so given the length of time the process was taking for access to what I believe is relatively simple and straightforward information that should be on the public record;
  2. I did contact your office at that time to determine what options were available to me ( and others) under the circumstances and I was advised in regard to the the review process available;
  3. Upon receipt of that advice I determined that my  decision to let the application run its course was appropriate given that I had the opportunity to seek a review at it’s end;
  4. Given all the above, and the apparent opportunity to to object now, I am still quite comfortable with the idea of letting the application run its course;
  5. Nonetheless, I’m finding ‘the process’ overall somewhat frustrating in the time that it can be strung out to and perhaps suspiciously in some cases.

I look forward to receiving the outcome of my application on Feb 29 and now with increased interest given all this.

Thank you for your correspondence in regard to this matter and your office’s helpful advice along the way, it is very much appreciated.

Regards,

Ray
